Single Cylinder, Four Stroke, Diesel Computerised Setup - The setup consists of engine connected to eddy-current type dynamometer. It is provided with necessary equipment and instruments for combustion pressure and crank-angle measurements. These signals are interfaced with computer through engine indicator for Pq-PV plots and engine indicated power. Provision is also made for interfacing airflow, fuel flow, temperatures and load measurements with computer. The setup enables study of engine for indicated power, brake power, thermal efficiency, volumetric efficiency, fuel consumption, air fuel ratio, heat balance etc. The software package is fully configurable. HEAT EXCHANGER 3471
Manual Setup (Shell & Tube + Double Pipe) - The heat exchanger setup is designed for understanding basic principles of heat transfer. The setup consists of shell & tube type heat exchanger. Double pipe type heat exchanger, tank heating and rotameter for flow measurement. The tank heating is fitted with heater for on-line heating of water. Inlet and outlet temperature of cold & hot water is sensed by temperature sensors and displayed on digital indicator. These components along with necessary piping and fittings are mounted on support housing designed for tabletop mounting. Heat transfer rate and effectiveness of heat transfer under co- current and counter current mode can be calculated at different heat loads.

Computesired (Shell & Tube + Double Pipe) - The setup consists of shell & tube and Double pipe type heat exchangers, heating tank, rotameter, temperature transmitter, E/P converter, interfacing unit and control valve for flow manipulation. The process parameter is controlled through computer by manipulating cold water flow rate input to the heat exchanger through pneumatic control valve. The heat transfer rate and effectiveness of heat transfer under co- current and counter current mode can be calculated at different flow rates and heat loads. the set point. TRAY DRIER 3476
The et up consists of tray drier with aluminium tray for holding the material to be dried. The air from fan is heated and passed through the drier. Glass tube thermometer is provided for temperature measurement. Dry bulb, wet bulb thermometer is provided to measure humidity. Digital on-line weighing arrangement is provided. The setup is designed for tabletop mounting.

PACKED BED ABSORPTION 3486
The set up consists of glass absorption column with packed bed over which metered quantity of fluid is distributed. The gas and air are metered separately, mixed and passed through the bed vertically upwards. The gas air mixture is absorbed in the liquid. All the flow rates can be independently varies to simulate different conditions and by measuring the concentration of gas absorbed in the liquid the overall volumetric mass transfer coefficients can be calculated. DIFFUSION IN AIR 3487
Diffusivity of the vapors is determined by WINKELMANN(4) method in which liquid is allowed to evaporate in a graduated veritcal glass tube over the top of which a stream of air is passed. The glass diffusion tube is supported in water filled electrically heated glass beaker.

EXTRACTION COLUMN 3488
Liquid-liquid + Spray - The set up consists of a glass column filled with rasching rings. The feed tanks are provided with rotameters for flow measurement. The product is collected in the tanks and flow can be measured and varied by rotameter. The total set is housed in a well-designed stand-alone rigid structure.
