SPOT TO LINE CONVERTERS 3601
Conversion of an optical path from a spot to a line is highly desirable in many
scanning applications. It allows a photo detector with a round or square active
area to become essentially a long linear array, or an inexpensive projector bulb
to illuminate the entire width or a document or web. They are also used frequently
to "pick-up" scattered or reflecting light from a laser and rotating
mirror combination. Spot to line converters are produced in a wide variety of
sizes and shapes, with line lengths of 125" or less up to lines nearly 2
feet long.
MACHINE VISION BACK LIGHTS 3602
The machine vision lighting method which provides a sharp high contrast silhouette
of an object is referred as backlighting. Backlighting is used when the surface
features of an object are not critical and contrast is needed to make it
appear dark against a bright background. Backlighting is not only used in
machine vision, it is also used in microscopy. Other possible applications,
among many, for backlighting include, glass inspection, edge detection, filmstrip
viewing, and electronic device lead location.
MACHINE VISION LIGHT LINES 3603
The lighting method which provides a line output configuration from a round
light source is referred to as a line light. Fiber optic line lights are
used in machine vision systems, angled lighting for robotics, inspection,
metrology and line scan camera web applications. Using a fiber optic light
line design with a quartz-halogen source provides an efficient means of distributing
high levels of cold light to remote locations. They are easily interfaced
and effective when a strobe light source is used.
Fiber Optic Ring Lights 3604
Ring Lights provide 360° of high intensity, shadow free, uniform, cold
illumination. The units a housed in black anodized aluminum with a choice of
PCV covered metal or stainless steel metal sheathing. ESD compliant ring lights
are also available
Fiber Optic Light Guides 3605
Offers a variety of light guides that use high output 0.66 N.A. glass fiber
to provide cool, uniform illumination. The fibers are housed in PVC covered
mono coil sheathing with crimped stainless steel terminations. The following
configurations are available:
A) Single Glass with PVC sheathing and straight end tip
B) Single Glass with PVC sheathing and right angle distal end tip
C) Single Glass with PVC sheathing and threaded distal end tip.
D) Single Glass PVC metal hose sheathing and straight end tip.
E) Dual Glass Light Guide with PVC sheathing and straight end tip
Fiber Ring Lights (Special) 3606
Streamlined system provides uniform, interference-free illumination over a
wide range and distance, enabling user to match light output to applications
instantly. Light output is brilliant and cool. Shadows are virtually eliminated.
Adjusts instantly to change contrast. Eliminates glare without altering microscope
optics. Rotating disk uniformly directs 8 light spots to single convergence
point. Operating distance is 0-12" (0-24" ). Designed for situations
where size or weight are factors. Competitively priced. 18" inch gooseneck.
The R-90 is a streamlined eight point adjustable ring light with a slimmer
diameter and non- reflective black anodized exterior housing. This eliminates
all visual disturbances and allows greater freedom of motion for stereo microscope
users. The new system's light output is brilliant and cool, and perfectly
balanced. These are the highly polished end optical glass fibers. The new
R-90 is also fully adjustable, making the system effective over the full
360º observation, and is eminently repeatable. Users can instantly vary
the light convergence point from 0º to 90º with a turn of the adjustable
thumb wheel. With its rugged, black anodized aluminum shell and ability to
function in temperatures ranging from -40º to +600º, the R-90 is
designed for the tough environments that scientists and researchers work
in, the world over. The system is competitively priced.
